This is a manufacturing project assigned by Industrial Centre, in this summer project, we were assigned to make an electric wheelchair. For making different components of the project, we visited different workshops to make different components of the project. Through this training module, we were given the great chance to gain a good appreciation of how each workshops operate, what types of job were done, what types of equipment were normally to be found in each workshops, and how high quality and good productivity could be achieved in these works. We also learnt the importance of material selections to make different components of the Electric wheelchair, which let us know the efficiency to finish a product of a limited cost.

When we talked about electric wheelchairs, there would be definitely numerous of things came to our minds, for example, products for disabled, expensive, not common for general residents. To start our project, we thought deeply in mind to design a brand-new electric wheelchair that was still not seen in this market. From this, we needed to think an attractive outlook for our product, as to be competitive in market. In addition, new concept should be applied on our wheelchair to attract the customers. We were required to compare the electric wheelchairs with what we started to design; it would help us collect all the ideas to apply on our product.
