Working Principle

The operation procedures:

  • •  Nylon hole aligns with stainless steel hole
  • •  Epoxy will be forced out.

Dispenser Mechanism

Before the operation of the dispenser machine, the users have to pour the epoxy mixture into the plastic container first. Then the users have to close the tank by the cover. The cover has to be screwed very tightly. It has to ensure that there will not be any gas leakage as the system requires the gas pressure to inject out the epoxy.

The mechanism of the dispensing valve unit

When the dispenser is not in working, the nylon will be overlapped with the stainless steel plate, then the epoxy will not be forced out.

When the dispenser is in working stage, the cylinder will push out the nylon plate, then the hole on the nylon will be aligned with the hole of the stainless steel plate. Then, the gas pressure will force out the epoxy to the transformer.

Ratchet Mechanism

 

How the table with the coils rotates and how much it should rotate are the most essential considerations of designing the mechanism. For our cases, we designed the turntable to be rotated by 90 degrees in each cycle. We selected ratchet mechanism with a ratchet and a pneumatic cylinder. The reason is mainly concerning the advantage of its low manufacturing cost. Meanwhile, we had also faced the its main disadvantage of high manufacturing difficulty. However, we could solve it by the help from PolyU Industrial Center ' staffs and their high-technology facilities

The followings are the main parts forming the ratchet mechanism:

Principle

When the pneumatic cylinder received the signal and gas pressure from the PLC unit, it will be extended to drive the turn-plate to rotate by 90 degrees. On the turn plate, there is an auto-lock with a spring. The whole shaft connected with the ratchet will, then, be rotated by 90 degrees at the same time. When the cylinder returns, the auto-lock will be open automatically, so that it will only pull the turn-plate back by 90 degrees without affecting the ratchet and the whole shaft. Then one cycle is completed.
