As the above table shown, most of the manufacturing methods in the IC centre are included throughout the whole project. This consists of machining, grinding, wire cut, CNC machining, etc.

In this manufacturing project, we learn a lot of useful practical engineering knowledge. And we need to apply these professional skills and knowledge so as to complete all tasks and finish the final product.

The manufacturing processes involved are very abundant. This includes manual machining (turning and milling), CNC machining, wire cut, etc. Through these processes, we learn and get more familiar with the principles and the operations of some common manufacturing processes. Besides, precipitating in this month-lasting MU project, we really appreciate the hands-on practical work of the manufacturing processes in mechanical engineering.

Furthermore, we learn how to select and use suitable machining processes including conventional machining, CNC machining, etc. This would affect the effectiveness and quality of the corresponding parts. Also, we understand some common processing techniques for the sheet metals including blanking, punching and folding. And we could select appropriate measurement skills including the use of coordinate measuring machine for inspection and checking of components based on the specifications.

Through this integrated manufacturing project, we apply effectively the engineering knowledge and previous industrial training experience in carrying out the design and drawing work of the project using the computer-aided drawing regarding the planning, costing, manufacturing, quality control, final assembly, inspection, testing and evaluation of the project.

Besides, we gain a sound experience in the organization and planning, engineering analysis and decision making, progress monitoring and control, and also the oral presentation. Furthermore, we gain valuable experience of working as a member of a team, and an opportunity to develop personal and professional qualities such as leadership, communication skill, co-ordination ability, cooperative attitude and enthusiasm for and readiness to accept technical responsibility. 

To conclude, this manufacturing project is very helpful for us. We learn many practical knowledge and technique. Besides, we learn to appreciate the hands-on practical work and realize the happiness of completing a product eventually. This would give us a good and sound fundamental to continue the coming Final Year Project in next year and also our future career.
